Friday, Sept 3rd

Friday morning I was already up at 5:45, even though I didn’t have anything to do that morning til the fandom press conference at 10am. I got dressed in my new DuckTape shirt, that I’d just bought. I love shirts with duckies on them, so I just couldn’t resist.

At 10, I was downstairs, ready for the Q&A. Some really good questions were asked. I’ll post Matt’s questions and answers from all the Q&A’s as soon as I have the time to. The 11am Autograph session was not open cause it was in the Exhibition hall, and that didn’t open until 1 on Friday. So we just hung out, and I went to my first sitting at the fan table.

Later that day, we finally got to go the first (what should have been second) fan signing. By this time, I realized that Karen should have gotten into Atlanta by then, so I reached into my purse to get my phone to call her up, and realized she wasn’t there. I started panicking, because my purse was full open in the exhibition hall while I was talking to Claudia, and she noted that it was hanging open. Stacy was with me, so we went to my room to see if I’d left the phone there. We got there, and all was well because I’d found my phone, but the adventure wasn’t over yet. On our way back to the elevators, a guy named Bart stumbled into our lives. He had two blue mohawks on his head, and was covered in fake blood (he was shirtless). He was drunk off his ass, and asked us to take him up to his room, so after about a million full elevators that couldn’t take us came and went, we agreed to take him to his room on the 34th floor. When we got to his floor, he asked us to come in, and we said no, so when he found his door, and knocked on it, we made a run for it. We reached the elevators, and frantically pushed the down button, cracking up cause he was so weird. I saw him and some chick running past the elevator area window, and she was yelling “I don’t see anyone!”, like straight out of some hillbilly horror/comedy movie. We got onto the elevators without them seeing us, and made our way back down to the convention level.

We went to the Farscape table down there because it was right across the way from our TRD fantable. They gave us lots of freebies and a Farscape fan that said, surprise surprise!, “Farscape Fan” on it. I love buttons (got tons last year at D*C), so we asked her where we could get ‘em, and the lady at the table told us that if we went to 3803 and watched the trailer, we’d get buttons. So me and Stacy said sure. Stacy was a big fan of Farscape, and I’d caught the show once or twice, but it conflicted with other shows that are on at the same time, so I never could watch it. But I figured, why not, I love mini series, and this one seemed pretty interesting, so we went. When we got off the elevator at the 38th floor, this one kid was heading on, and he suddenly stopped. He looked stoned off his ass, and insisted on giving me one of his Magic, The Gathering cards. He had a hand full of cash, and I asked if I could have a 20 instead, but he just gave me the card, and left. The Farscape room was actually quite cool. The trailer seemed interesting, and they gave us soda and starbursts! Along with that, we got these magnet Tribbles (I think that’s what Stacy called them), and stickers. There was lots of nice Fanart all over the room, and they showed us Farscape music videos, too. (I note that the entire adventure happened in 1 hour, though it seemed much longer) We woulda stayed longer except that I had to go back to the fan table again because all the people over 18 (lucky folks) got to go to the mature panel. It was kinda boring, but then Don showed up again, and we talked about all sorts of stuff, and for a while were joined by a Frodo. At 8 we packed up the table, and then there was a several hour black hole until the Drum Circle started at about 11:30pm. That night was kinda dull because I didn’t feel like dancing, and didn’t have a drum to join in with. I left and went walking around with Karen and Sam for a little while, then went to bed at about 12:30.

Oh, and did I mention that I won the first round of Tribe Trivia??? My prize being a set of tribe postcards, a tribe pen, and a tribe pin.

Hey mom!
Yeah, procrastination is EBEL! Never do it! I'm majorly procrastinating on an important English assignment right now... It's due tomorrow, and was assigned Thursday.
